PolarKnit Skull Hat

Me in my very own skull hat

I love this hat! The hat pattern is easy and it knits up very fast using bulky yarn. I found the pattern on the PolarKnit website and knew I had to make it. I followed the pattern almost exactly except I added two extra rows because when I tried it on it seem a little short. Now that it is done, I think I only needed to add one extra row. I knit tight and I was worried it would be too short. I also used size 11 needles instead of the recommend size 10 1/2 to 10 3/4. I am actually checking my gauge more often. I know, something I should of been doing all along. I used Lion Brand Chunky yarn instead of the PolarKnit yarn. I would of loved to use the polar fleece yarn by PolarKnit, but I would have had to order it and I am too impatient to wait for it to arrive. I am also too cheap and don't want to spend a lot of money because if the hat comes out wrong or I screw it up (which I usually do) then I would be pissed that I spend a lot of money on the yarn. That being said, I have plenty of left over yarn to make another one. Yes, another one. I usually don't like to knit the same thing over again, but this knit up so fast that I am going to do it again. I am going to save it for a gift. I am actually planning ahead. Yay me!
